MID-GEORGIA SOARING ASSOCIATION
Soaring over Georgia for 65 years
ABOUT
Mid-Georgia Soaring Association (MGSA) is one of the oldest and largest soaring clubs in the southeastern United States. We have approximately 60 members with varying degrees of experience from numerous hours of cross country experience to students in transition training. We are located about 35 miles east of Atlanta in Monroe, GA. We fly most weekends at Monroe Airport (D73), weather permitting.

MGSA is a long-time Club Chapter with the Soaring Society of America (the national organization dedicated to Soaring).

Returning glider pilots and power transition pilots are encouraged to come visit and see our operations first hand. We are confident you will be impressed with MGSA's operations.

Discovery flights are available for individuals who would like to experience the joy of soaring flight. All flights are with FAA certificated commercial pilots. Click on the 'Discovery Rides' link for more information. Flight instruction is also available to club members by FAA Certificated Flight Instructors (CFI-G).
THE FLEET

MGSA is proud to fly an all-glass fleet. The club currently owns four high-performance gliders used for training and cross country flights.

MGSA promotes a safety culture that encourages all members to report safety issues or concerns without fear of recrimination or punitive action. Members will inspect equipment for defects, remain alert and aware during air and ground operations, and maintain weather and situational awareness in order to maintain the highest level of safety.
